About me

I am someone who values calm, steadiness, and authenticity, and I bring these qualities into my practice. Clients often tell me they feel comfortable and at ease in our sessions, able to be honest without fear of judgment. I see counselling as a partnership where you lead the way, and I walk alongside you with care, curiosity, and respect for your lived experience.

My path into counselling has been shaped by a lifelong interest in how people think, feel, and make meaning in their lives. Through my own personal and professional journey, I’ve learned the importance of softening the inner critic, trusting ourselves more deeply, and creating space to truly listen to our inner world, lessons that continue to shape my work with clients.

Personally, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, the outdoors, cooking, reading and our dog Bob.

I am a member of the New Zealand Association of Counsellors (NZAC) and practice in accordance with the NZAC Code of Ethics. This framework guides the way I work, ensuring that counselling is grounded in professionalism, respect, cultural safety, and the wellbeing of clients.

As part of this commitment, I uphold strict confidentiality. What you share in counselling remains private, and your information is protected. The only exceptions to confidentiality occur if there is serious and immediate risk of harm to you or others, or if required by law — and wherever possible, I will discuss this with you first.

Being part of NZAC means I am accountable to high standards of ethical practice, ongoing professional development, and reflective supervision. This helps ensure you receive safe, competent, and trustworthy support throughout our work together.
